Kaleb C. Grant of Beaumont, TX, grew up fascinated by well-dressed individuals. "It was like they knew how good they looked. It made them stand out in a way that I wanted to." Kaleb began styling himself, getting inspiration from older trends and combining them with new ones, eventually finding his own unique style. While attending Prairie View A&M University, he realized that beyond education, fashion was something he already knew he could capitalize on. Kaleb taught himself how to sew, reconstruct, and tailor clothes. Thus birthing his brand, Westmoreland Studios, whose primary purpose is to repurpose older/donated clothes and bring them to life in a way that represents him and represents their motto of "whatever is left of you is the BEST of you." Through experiencing a tremendous amount of loss early in his youth, Kaleb felt the need to channel the feeling of not having much into his creativity. He uses his brand as a way of taking whatever is available and making something that is eternal. The Westmoreland CEO up-cycles from local thrift stores and creates 1-of-1 pieces that reflect his clients' unique personality.
